Sudden Stop Causes Chicken Parts Spill on Route 61

A truck carrying chicken parts spilled its load in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, on August 15, after a sudden brake check.

The details: Truck driver Brian J. Paul had to brake hard when a car ahead of him stopped suddenly. The abrupt stop caused parts of his load to spill across Route 61.

  • The spill created a foul smell and took several hours to clean up.
  • Paul cited the spill as a result of the load being "too sloppy."

The citation: Paul was cited for not securing his load properly and is facing a $246.75 fine. His citation was officially filed on September 5, reported The News-Item.

The highway cleanup involved multiple local agencies, including the Shamokin Fire Bureau and PennDOT. Despite the mess, thankfully, no injuries were reported in the incident.
