Pickup crashes into parked semi, causing deadly Maryland highway fire

A pickup driver tragically died after colliding with a semi-truck on Tuesday morning in Belcamp, Maryland.

The incident: Happened around 6:30 a.m. on November 12 on northbound I-95.

  • The semi was parked on the shoulder when the pickup crashed into it, causing both vehicles to catch fire.
  • The pickup driver did not survive, but fortunately, no other injuries were reported.

What we know: Maryland State Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.

The crash led to the closure of northbound I-95 lanes for several hours.

Thankfully, the interstate was completely reopened by 1:30 p.m. that same day, bringing some relief to the traffic situation.
