Pickup crashes into parked semi, causing deadly Maryland highway fire

A pickup driver tragically died after colliding with a semi-truck on Tuesday morning in Belcamp, Maryland.

The incident: Happened around 6:30 a.m. on November 12 on northbound I-95.

The semi was parked on the shoulder when the pickup crashed into it, causing both vehicles to catch fire.
The pickup driver did not survive, but fortunately, no other injuries were reported.

What we know: Maryland State Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.

The crash led to the closure of northbound I-95 lanes for several hours.

Thankfully, the interstate was completely reopened by 1:30 p.m. that same day, bringing some relief to the traffic situation.
