New Truck Stops Along I-10 to Boost Southeast Texas Economy

Truck stops are popping up along the I-10 corridor in Southeast Texas. Officials hope this brings an economic boost to the area.

What's happening: Four new truck stops are being built between Beaumont and Orange, Texas.

These stops will provide parking, fuel, and food for truckers.
At least one is planned to open by the end of October 2024.

Why it matters: Southeast Texas leaders believe these truck stops will drive economic growth.

"Southeast Texas is the hub," said Vidor City Manager Robbie Hood. "We have the oil industry, manufacturing, and trucking."
Every dollar spent at these truck stops adds to the area's sales tax revenue, according to 12 News Now.

No exact opening dates are set for the remaining three truck stops.
