"Key Inspection Dates Truckers Need to Mark for 2025"

The CVSA has released the 2025 schedule for major commercial vehicle enforcement initiatives.

Important dates: Several key dates have been announced for inspections next year.

  • International Roadcheck: Scheduled for May 13-15, 2025, across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. This is the largest enforcement program targeting commercial motor vehicles.
  • Operation Safe Driver Week: Set for July 13-19, 2025. Focuses on identifying unsafe driving behaviors in both commercial and passenger vehicle drivers.
  • Brake Safety Week: Scheduled for August 24-30, 2025. Involves brake system inspections on trucks and buses. There will also be an unannounced one-day brake safety initiative.

The focus: Inspectors will give special attention to brake linings and pads during Brake Safety Week.

The CVSA aims to cut down on accidents caused by brake malfunctions, which remain a leading cause of commercial vehicle-related out-of-service violations.

What to expect: Inspections will follow an 11-step process, covering elements like checking air brake components, brake adjustment, and the air brake ABS system.

Mark your calendars and make sure your truck is ready for inspection.
