FedEx driver falls asleep causing semi crash in Utah

A truck driver fell asleep and caused a crash on northbound Interstate 15 in Pintura, Utah, on Wednesday.

The incident: Happened near Exit 33 when a FedEx driver pulling double trailers dozed off. His truck sideswiped another semi and overturned both trailers onto the grassy shoulder.

  • The crash took place early morning on September 18.
  • Both the driver and his co-driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.
  • The incident caused minimal traffic disruption as the overturned trailers didn't block the main lanes.
  • Authorities plan to pull the trailers through a roadside fence as part of the cleanup efforts.

According to FOX 13 News, the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed the exit was briefly closed for the removal operation.

Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
