CVSA announces 2025 safety inspection dates for truckers

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has announced the dates for their major 2025 enforcement initiatives.

The big picture: CVSA's inspection efforts are extensive, involving thousands of inspections across North America.

Key dates:

  • International Roadcheck: May 13-15, 2025. This is the world’s largest targeted enforcement program on commercial motor vehicles, with inspections conducted in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.
  • Operation Safe Driver Week: July 13-19, 2025. Law enforcement will focus on identifying risky driving behaviors among commercial and passenger vehicle drivers.
  • Brake Safety Week: August 24-30, 2025. Inspections will primarily target trucks and buses to check for brake-system violations.
  • An unannounced one-day brake safety enforcement initiative will also happen at some point in the year.

Why it matters: Brake-related issues are the top reason trucks are taken out of service during inspections.

Joe DeLorenzo, Director of CVSA, said, "These enforcement efforts are crucial to ensure the safety of both commercial drivers and the public."

In summary: Truckers should prepare for these dates to ensure their vehicles meet safety standards, avoiding violations and keeping the roads safer for everyone.
