Four young men lost their lives in a wrong-way crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Sunday, October 19, 2025.

What happened: Around 12:40 a.m. near milepost 1.3 in Carneys Point Township, a Dodge Ram pickup was driving north in the southbound lanes.

  • The pickup hit a Mazda CX-5 head-on. The Mazda was then pushed into the path of a semi truck driving in the right lane behind it.

  • The semi truck driver, a 29-year-old Canadian from Nova Scotia, was not injured.
  • The pickup driver, Christopher Neff of Colorado, had serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Investigation: As of Monday, police had not filed charges. State Police are asking for witnesses and anyone who saw the white Dodge Ram going the wrong way to contact Troop “D” Moorestown Station at 609-860-9000 ext. 3226, according to NJ.com.
