Wawa opens first full truck stop with overnight parking

Wawa has opened its first ever full truck stop, welcoming drivers in Hope Mills, North Carolina. The grand opening took place during the last week of August 2025.

Why it matters: Wawa is well-known for its convenience stores and gas stations in the eastern U.S., but this is the chain's first move into a full-size truck stop built to serve professional drivers.

The new location features overnight truck parking and fuel for semis alongside regular gas pumps.
The inside offers food options and a store, much like a regular Wawa, but set up to handle more drivers, including those on the road for days at a time.
During the opening, folks got a look at some shiny trucks lined up for fuel and a tour showed off the new driver amenities.

This new Wawa truck stop could be the first of more to come as the company looks to meet the needs of truckers rolling up and down the East Coast.
