Two semis and car crash shuts down highway, spills logs

A crash involving two semi trucks and a passenger car shut down Highway 63 near North Bay, Ontario, on Wednesday, September 10th.

What happened: Police say one of the rigs crossed the center line, slamming into another tractor trailer coming from the opposite direction. The impact tore the side off one of the trucks and scattered a load of logs across the road.

  • The spilled logs blocked the highway, messing up traffic and forcing crews to close the scene for several hours for cleanup.
  • A passenger vehicle was also hit during the wreck.

Only one person had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Ontario Provincial Police charged a 60-year-old truck driver from Frankford with careless driving.

The highway reopened after several hours, once the debris and logs were cleared from the roadway.
