Two semi-trucks collided on eastbound I-70 in Colorado early Friday morning, resulting in hospitalization for two of the drivers involved.
The collision: Occurred around 4:30 a.m. near Eagle when a westbound truck crossed the barrier into oncoming eastbound traffic. Investigators suspect driver fatigue played a role in the crash.
- Two people from the eastbound truck were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions are currently unknown.
- The westbound driver was unharmed.
Current status: Eastbound I-70 remains closed between Exit 163 (Edwards) and Exit 167 (Avon) and is expected to stay closed for most of the day, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
