Trucker’s usual lunch stop leads to $50,000 lottery win

A truck driver from Prince George’s County caught a lucky break on July 26 when he bought lottery tickets during his regular stop at a Royal Farms in Odenton, Maryland.

The details: He picked up lunch and, feeling lucky, played numbers tied to his birthday on a Pick 3, while letting the machine pick numbers for the rest. The next morning, his Pick 3 and Pick 4 tickets came up short, but he was stunned to see all five numbers matching on his Pick 5 ticket.

  • He double-checked the ticket with his wife, who was just as shocked to see the $50,000 win.
  • The couple says they plan to pay off some bills and may look at a new car, according to The BayNet.
  • The Royal Farms store also receives a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The trucker’s regular stop for a sandwich and tickets turned a normal day into a $50,000 win.
