Trucker's stove explosion sets semi truck on fire in Idaho

A truck driver's portable stove exploded Saturday evening at the Traveler’s Oasis, near Interstate 84 in Eden, Idaho, leading to a fire that engulfed his bobtail semi truck.

The incident: The driver was cooking inside the truck cab when the explosion occurred at around 5:10 p.m. The truck's cabin became a fiery inferno, significantly damaging the vehicle before firefighters could control the flames.

  • The explosion left the truck driver with burns on one arm.
  • The driver was rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulance for treatment.
  • Fire crews managed to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby vehicles, but the bobtail was completely destroyed.

Response: Firefighters from multiple agencies, including First Segregation and Rock Creek Fire Districts, were on scene. They worked quickly to extinguish the blaze and ensure safety.

The cause of the stove explosion remains a mystery, reported KMVT News. Investigations are ongoing to determine what led to the incident.

Thankfully, the fire did not spread further, and no other injuries were reported from the scene.
