California Highway Patrol (CHP) had a surprise at the Grapevine scale house when a semi rolled in with a diesel pump and hose still attached on April 15.

Driving miss: The truck carried the pump and hose from Visalia, a trip of about 96 miles, sparking astonishment and some chuckles among the troopers.

The unusual sight prompted CHP to share the incident on social media, highlighting the lengthy journey of the attached hose.
There were no reports of any citations given to the driver.

Context: The Grapevine is a well-known location on I-5 in California, noted for its busy truck traffic navigating the steep climb.
