Trucker tragically crushed by steel load in Indiana plant

A tragic accident occurred on February 5, 2025, when trucker Milos Jovanovic was crushed by a 5,000-pound load of steel tubing at the Lippert Components plant in Goshen, Indiana.

The accident: Jovanovic, 36, from Naperville, Ill., was delivering steel tubes from his semi truck when the incident happened, according to police reports. The steel fell on him during the unloading process.

  • Emergency services rushed to the scene around 9:40 a.m. but found Jovanovic too severely injured to recover.
  • He was swiftly transferred for an emergency med flight but was pronounced dead upon arrival at the airfield.

Authorities: Goshen Police arrived about 45 minutes after the accident, as they were contacted only after Jovanovic's transport.

What we know: The plant, previously inspected for health concerns in 2023, faced similar OSHA issues in the past, reported South Bend Tribune.

The police haven't clarified if Jovanovic or Lippert employees were actively involved in the unloading process. No further information or response from Lippert's PR team was available by the end of the week.
