Trucker survives severe crash with tanker in Texas

A trucker hauling steel pipes survived a severe crash with a tanker in Lufkin, Texas.

When it happened: The accident took place on September 18, just before 8 a.m. on U.S. 59 near Southwood Drive/FM 324.

The details: The tanker truck entered a northbound crossover, driving into the path of the semi truck. The impact caused the semi to lose its load and left the cab mangled.

  • The tanker truck driver also survived without serious injury.

What they're saying: "We’re glad to report that the driver of the 18-wheeler is doing well and is expected to be released from the hospital without needing an overnight stay," said the Lufkin Police Department.

The driver's wife expressed her gratitude on social media, thanking God for her husband's survival: "God was not only riding in the passenger seat but was totally wrapped around Brian holding him in his arms," Amanda Guthrie shared.

Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
