Semi truck gets stuck under low bridge in Grants

A semi truck attempted to drive under a low bridge in Grants, New Mexico, on Wednesday night but got stuck and damaged the trailer.

The incident: Happened on the evening of September 18th. The truck tried to pass beneath a railroad bridge on Fifth Street but got caught, causing a blockage.

  • Emergency crews closed Fifth Street from Santa Fe Avenue to San Jose Drive to clear the wreckage and inspect the bridge's structural integrity.
  • No injuries were reported in the accident, which is still under investigation, according to KOB 4.

The bridge requires inspection before trains can use it again. Fifth Street will stay closed until cleanup and inspections are complete.
