Trucker survives late night ravine crash after falling asleep

Just before midnight on July 25, 2025, a semi truck ran off southbound I-17 near Anthem, Arizona, ending up in a ravine. Arizona state troopers said the driver fell asleep at the wheel before the incident.

The details: Troopers arrived at the scene after 11 p.m. and found that only one commercial vehicle was involved.

  • No injuries were reported in the crash.
  • The truck left the roadway and landed off to the right side, down in a ravine, according to investigators.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said fatigue was a factor in what happened. Thankfully, the trucker managed to walk away without harm.
