Trucker powers through floodwaters as cars are stranded nearby

After a week of heavy rains in central Texas, part of Interstate 35 in San Antonio turned into a flooded mess. On June 12, a trucker drove his rig straight through the deep water as other vehicles sat nearly submerged or stranded.

What happened: The driver pushed the semi ahead, not stopping for the high water while smaller cars stayed put.

  • The truck kept moving, plowing through what looked like a small lake on the interstate.
  • Video of the moment shows just how deep the water was, with only tops of some cars visible above the floodwaters.

Between the lines: Central Texas is no stranger to wild weather, and truckers are often the ones keeping goods moving through the storms.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident on I-35.
