A truck driver is facing trial for attempted murder after a shooting along Interstate 470 in Belmont County, Ohio, in 2024. The trial for 32-year-old Malcolm Williams began on July 29th and is expected to last four days.
The incident: The victim, Michael Brundage, had pulled over to the shoulder and was talking to a mechanic on the phone. Williams stopped his truck beside him, and, without warning, shot Brundage in the head.
- Brundage managed to stay conscious, even sending a selfie of his injury to his company so they could call 911.
- He survived and has recovered from his injuries after the bullet went through his cheek and shattered his jaw.
- Investigators used dash cam video, a ballistics match, and GPS data to track down Williams in Michigan.
The charges: Williams faces one count of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, and firing a weapon in a restricted area, according to WTRF.
The jury is now listening to the evidence in the case. The trial continues this week.
