Trucker navigates floodwaters despite road warnings and barriers

A truck driver ignored two "Water Over Road" signs and drove around barricades into floodwaters in Crittenden County, Kentucky, late on April 17th.

What happened: The driver maneuvered around barriers on KY-365 at 11 p.m., ending up in water but safely making it to dry ground.

  • First responders arrived promptly, and the truck was ultimately pulled out by Stinnet’s Wrecker Service.
  • The effort to recover the truck lasted until around 4 a.m. on April 18th.

Official response: Crittenden County Emergency Management emphasized that such situations highlight the need for drivers to heed posted warnings about road hazards.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident, and both the driver and truck were safely retrieved.
