Trucker found dead in sleeper at Iowa travel plaza

A trucker in his late twenties was found dead inside the cab of his truck at the Meskwaki Travel Plaza off Highway 30 in Iowa earlier this month.

What happened: The Meskwaki Nation Police Department responded to a call about an unresponsive man at the travel plaza near Meskwaki Settlement on June 6.

  • Officers discovered the young driver deceased in the sleeper berth of his truck.
  • The man's body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office to figure out the cause of death.
  • Police say they found no evidence of foul play.

The driver’s name has not yet been shared publicly. As of June 12, officials were still waiting for autopsy results.
