Trucker electrocuted after vehicle touches power line in Kansas

A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday, March 26 in Sheridan County, Kansas, claiming the life of a truck driver.

What happened: The incident took place on Kansas Highway 23 at around 3 p.m. Shawn Kinder, a 53-year-old trucker, was transporting an oil derrick on his 1979 Kenworth flatbed. While attempting a right turn into a ditch to manage the oversize load, the rig made accidental contact with a live power line.

  • The contact resulted in Kinder being electrocuted and ejected from his vehicle.
  • Kinder was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officials.

The aftermath: A 48-year-old man safely entered the truck afterward to apply the parking brake without harm, reported KSN News. The incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
