Truck driver faces DUI charges on I-80 in Iowa

A truck driver was pulled over on I-80 in Oxford, Iowa, for reportedly driving erratically on Thursday.

What happened: Scott Snyder, 58, was stopped after a tip from a concerned driver. He admitted to drinking Fireball whisky and keeping the bottle in his truck cab.

  • The initial breath test showed Snyder had a BAC of 0.149%, well over the legal limit for CDL holders.
  • A second test registered a BAC of 0.132%.

The charges: Snyder, hailing from Virginia, faces charges of Operating While Under the Influence - 2nd Offense.

The sheriff's department noted Snyder pulled over at the Oxford exit, and a roadside sobriety test confirmed impairment, reported KCRG.

Snyder will have a court date set to address his charges.
