Truck driver charged after Gwinnett County hit-and-run incident

A truck driver is facing charges after an incident on January 28, 2025, in Gwinnett County, Georgia, where a semi-truck collided with a car and pushed it through two intersections.

The incident: The driver of a silver car was crossing the I-85 overpass on Pleasant Hill Road when the truck attempted to switch lanes and struck the car.

  • The car spun out and was then pushed by the truck through the intersections before the truck left the scene.
  • The car's driver was unharmed and immediately reported the hit-and-run.

The truck driver's status: Christian Barrier, 31, later turned himself in to the authorities.

  • He is charged with Hit and Run, Improper Lane Change, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Conduct.

What's next: The case proceeds in Gwinnett County with Barrier facing the listed charges. Thankfully, the incident did not result in any injuries.
