Truck driver charged after Gwinnett County hit-and-run incident

A truck driver is facing charges after an incident on January 28, 2025, in Gwinnett County, Georgia, where a semi-truck collided with a car and pushed it through two intersections.

The incident: The driver of a silver car was crossing the I-85 overpass on Pleasant Hill Road when the truck attempted to switch lanes and struck the car.

The car spun out and was then pushed by the truck through the intersections before the truck left the scene.
The car's driver was unharmed and immediately reported the hit-and-run.

The truck driver's status: Christian Barrier, 31, later turned himself in to the authorities.

He is charged with Hit and Run, Improper Lane Change, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Conduct.

What's next: The case proceeds in Gwinnett County with Barrier facing the listed charges. Thankfully, the incident did not result in any injuries.
