Truck convoy for Special Olympics honors the hard work of drivers

The annual Truck Convoy for Special Olympics South Carolina will roll through Columbia on Saturday, August 23.

How it works: Truckers, athletes, local police, and community members will gather at 11 a.m. at the State Fairgrounds for a big send-off. The event features lunch, activities, a raffle, and an awards ceremony to show appreciation for truck drivers and their support of the Special Olympics.

After the celebration, the trucks will start their convoy at 1 p.m., heading north up Interstate 77, then turning south before going back to the fairgrounds.
Law enforcement will escort the convoy as it cruises its route.
