Troopers weigh nearly 3,000 trucks during enforcement detail

From June 23 to June 25, Illinois State Police ran a commercial vehicle enforcement detail at a fixed scale in Montgomery County. Over the three days, troopers focused on weighing trucks and checking for any violations.

By the numbers:

  • 2,956 commercial vehicles were weighed.
  • 184 trucks received full inspections.
  • 32 vehicles were taken out-of-service for serious violations.
  • 8 trucks were cited for overweight loads.
  • 93 other violations were written up during the detail.

Troopers said they enforced both state and federal trucking rules and checked for issues like driver impairment. Officers also shared safety information with drivers during the event.

This enforcement detail wrapped up on June 25. Illinois State Police did not report any crashes or injuries tied to the operation.
