Troopers remind drivers to slow down after tow truck crash

An Ohio trooper's dash cam captured a crash on I-71 in Warren County on January 6, involving a car and a tow truck.

Crash details: The vehicle was moving too fast and hit the tow truck, which was handling roadside assistance during winter weather. Fortunately, no one was hurt in this incident.

  • The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) shared the footage to remind drivers to slow down and move over near emergency vehicles.
  • OSHP stated, "Move over if you can, but if you can’t because of roadway or traffic conditions, then you must slow down!”

Safety advice: Drivers are urged to exercise caution when they see flashing lights of any color on the roadside.

The incident highlights the risks that fast-moving cars pose to roadside workers, making it essential for all drivers to be vigilant, especially in challenging weather conditions.
