Tragic collision involving two big rigs and a sedan on turnpike

A tragic accident occurred on January 13th around 12:25 p.m. on the Florida Turnpike near Miami Gardens.

What happened: Two tractor-trailers and a Nissan sedan collided in the southbound lanes.

  • The crash led to the ejection of a female passenger from one of the big rigs. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • The driver of the Nissan was hospitalized with injuries but is expected to survive.

The aftermath: The crash caused major traffic disruptions as authorities conducted their investigation.

Two lanes were reopened later, reported Local 10 News.

Authorities are still investigating the cause. The identity of the deceased woman has not been released yet.
