Tragic collision claims five lives in North Carolina crash

On January 19, a tragic accident in Bladen County, North Carolina, claimed the lives of five people when an SUV collided with a semi truck.

The crash: Happened at around 4 p.m. near NC 20 and Purdie-Hall Road. The SUV, driven by 36-year-old Maribel Hernandez, ran a stop sign and entered the path of the semi.

  • All five SUV occupants, including four children aged 15 to 6, died in the crash.
  • The truck driver was not seriously hurt and is not facing charges, as Hernandez was found at fault.
