Tragic collision claims five lives in North Carolina crash

On January 19, a tragic accident in Bladen County, North Carolina, claimed the lives of five people when an SUV collided with a semi truck.

The crash: Happened at around 4 p.m. near NC 20 and Purdie-Hall Road. The SUV, driven by 36-year-old Maribel Hernandez, ran a stop sign and entered the path of the semi.

All five SUV occupants, including four children aged 15 to 6, died in the crash.
The truck driver was not seriously hurt and is not facing charges, as Hernandez was found at fault.

This tragic event underscores the critical importance of road safety. Thankfully, the truck driver escaped without serious injury.
