SUV driver crashes into tanker truck and ignites fire

A wild scene unfolded in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12, when a driver in an SUV deliberately crashed into a tanker truck hauling oxygen. The incident took place at around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of 57th Avenue and Camelback Road.

The details: The SUV driver, whose intention was apparently aggressive, attempted to set the vehicle on fire after the collision, leading to a fire on the tanker.

  • The police had to use force to arrest the SUV driver after a struggle, said Glendale PD Public Information Officer Moroni Mendez.
  • No injuries were reported, despite the fiery crash.

Response: Emergency crews, including hazmat teams from Phoenix and Peoria, arrived quickly to handle the situation. They worked to cool down the tanker and ensure the area was safe, reported AZ Family.

  • Camelback Road is currently closed in both directions between 55th and 59th avenues.
