Off-duty cop fires at semi truck on I-95

On the afternoon of March 10, an unusual shooting incident involving an off-duty cop and a semi truck took place on I-95 in Jacksonville, Florida.

What went down: A 70-year-old truck driver from North Carolina was heading to Cape Coral when his truck reportedly had contact with an unmarked police car driven by Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Marc Crawford.

  • Crawford, not in uniform or equipped with a body camera, allegedly fired four shots at the truck after the vehicles 'may have' touched multiple times.
  • The shots were aimed near the engine bay of the semi, but the truck driver remained unharmed.

Post-incident details: Crawford sustained a shoulder injury. This shooting marks the fourth officer-involved incident for the 21-year veteran at JSO.
