Three Houston residents were caught in a string of thefts targeting parked 18-wheelers in Chambers County, Texas.
The arrests: Early on February 8, 2025, Chambers County Sheriff's Office officers, with help from the Texas Department of Public Safety, apprehended three suspects during a surveillance operation along State Highway 61 and IH-10.
- Jamal Tyler, Ernest Prentice, and Kaden King-Johnson, all from Houston, attempted to evade police when they were stopped.
- Tyler and King-Johnson also face charges for evading arrest or detention.
What was found: Authorities recovered several stolen items linked to the truck thefts. The investigation is ongoing, as not all suspects have been apprehended.
What they’re saying: "I am incredibly proud of the dedication and teamwork displayed by our deputies and assisting agencies," said Sheriff Hawthorne of Chambers County. "Their diligent work not only led to the capture of these suspects but also demonstrates our commitment to protecting the people and their property within Chambers County."
No injuries were reported in connection with these incidents.
