Strong winds flip semi truck, driver tragically loses life

Strong winds toppled a semi truck on March 30th, leading to the tragic death of the driver in Valparaiso, Indiana.

The details: Jagbir Singh, a 34-year-old from Ontario, Canada, was inside the cab when the rig flipped at Pratt Industries on Anthony Pratt Drive. Reports indicate Singh was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

  • Winds in the area were recorded at up to 80 mph, a critical factor in the accident, according to WGN 9.
  • Singh was navigating the premises of the warehouse when the truck was overturned by the storm the area experienced that day.

What's next: The Porter County Sheriff’s Office has yet to release further information about the circumstances of the crash.
