Nebraska State Patrol troopers pulled over more than 1,800 drivers for speeding during a two-week summer enforcement push that ran from July 14 to July 31, 2025.
The numbers: Troopers made 1,806 speeding stops, including stopping 62 drivers going over 100 mph. They also handed out tickets for:
- 91 for driving while suspended
- 50 for open alcohol containers
- 31 for underage alcohol
- 44 for not wearing a seat belt
- 18 for improper child restraints
During the campaign, troopers made 65 arrests for impaired driving and helped motorists 620 times. There were also 86 crashes they responded to, according to Nebraska State Patrol.
Colonel Bryan Waugh from the Nebraska State Patrol said, "Some of the speeds our troopers have seen from drivers have been egregious. Triple digit speeds can be shocking, but those aren’t the only speeds that can cause tragedies on the road."
Since Memorial Day, Nebraska troopers found 245 drivers going faster than 100 mph, including 118 in July alone.
