On Sunday afternoon, October 12, a small airplane crashed into a row of parked semi trucks in the 12700 block of N. Saginaw Boulevard, Tarrant County, Texas, just outside Fort Worth.
What happened: The Beechcraft King Air C90 took off from Alliance Airport and went down just after 1:30 p.m., slamming into several tractor trailers and causing a serious fire. Emergency crews arrived within minutes to battle the flames.
- At least 10 big rigs were damaged in the crash and the flames also set off several grass fires in the area.
- Two people in the plane died at the scene. Their names have not been released yet.
- No truck drivers or bystanders were reported injured in the incident.
Theresa Brown, who lives nearby, described the aftermath: "We ran out here and there was smoke, it was black, but what was bad was the fire. You just knew nobody survived that… It's just heart-wrenching. You don't wish that on anybody."
Multiple fire and emergency teams from Fort Worth and surrounding towns responded and got the blaze under control in about half an hour, according to CBS Texas.
The cause of the crash is still unknown. The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
