Semi’s police chase ends just inches from Georgia home

A semi truck ended up just inches from a Georgia home after a police chase on Tuesday morning, June 24.

What happened: Around 8:30 a.m., Cobb County police got calls about a semi driving erratically on Dallas Highway. When officers tried to stop the rig, the driver kept going and turned north onto Ernest Barrett Parkway.

The driver lost control while trying to turn left, sending the truck onto an embankment and through a fence.
The truck stopped just short of hitting a house, with only the tractor in the homeowner's backyard.

"I did hear a lot of traffic and a loud boom. I just thought it was your typical morning traffic on Barrett Parkway," said Jim Boyland, the homeowner who found the truck near his house after police showed up, according to 11Alive.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
No other people were hurt.

Police said the driver will be charged with reckless driving. Other charges could be added as the case is investigated.
