Semi truck loses driveshaft, damaging 11 vehicles on I-10

A semi truck unexpectedly lost its driveshaft on Interstate 10 in Holmes County, Florida, late Saturday night.

The incident: It happened around 9:40 p.m. near mile marker 114. The driveshaft fell from the truck, which was heading east, and landed on the road.

  • Eleven vehicles hit the driveshaft, causing damage to each one.
  • Despite the damage, all motorists, including the 41-year-old truck driver from Fort Stockton, Texas, were unharmed.

What happened next: The semi managed to pull over safely onto the shoulder.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrived to manage the situation and ensure everyone's safety. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and all damaged vehicles were safely moved to the side of the road, according to WJHG.
