Semi truck crash on I-35E causes morning traffic chaos

A semi truck was abandoned on Interstate 35E in Carrollton, Texas, early Friday morning, shutting down the highway. The incident happened around 4:20 a.m. on April 4.

What happened: The truck spun out of control, hitting a concrete barrier and spilling diesel fuel on the road, reported WFAA.

  • The driver left the scene, abandoning the truck partially perched on the barrier.
  • Hazmat crews were called to clean up the spilled diesel fuel.

Impact: Major delays were expected during the morning commute as all southbound lanes near Belt Line Road remained closed.

Ongoing investigation: Authorities are looking into why the driver left the scene and whether any charges will be filed.

Thankfully, despite the accident and fuel spill, no injuries were reported.
