Semi truck's reckless run through work zone costs $10,000

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) dash cam caught a semi truck barreling through a construction zone on I-35 near Pauls Valley, causing substantial damage.

Close call: While crews were restriping the highway on February 25, the speeding semi collided with their equipment. Despite the presence of a protecting trooper and cone crew behind them, one worker was just feet from the impact.

  • Damage from the hit to the carriage on the paint truck is estimated at $10,000.
  • The OHP trooper wasn't able to pursue the semi after the incident.
  • OHP stresses the necessity for drivers to heed roadway warnings and give space to flashing lights for safety.
