Semi truck's reckless run through work zone costs $10,000

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) dash cam caught a semi truck barreling through a construction zone on I-35 near Pauls Valley, causing substantial damage.

Close call: While crews were restriping the highway on February 25, the speeding semi collided with their equipment. Despite the presence of a protecting trooper and cone crew behind them, one worker was just feet from the impact.

Damage from the hit to the carriage on the paint truck is estimated at $10,000.
The OHP trooper wasn't able to pursue the semi after the incident.
OHP stresses the necessity for drivers to heed roadway warnings and give space to flashing lights for safety.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, despite the significant risks posed.
