Rock thrown through windshield causes fatal crash in California

A tragic incident occurred shortly after midnight on October 8, where a rock thrown through a car's windshield resulted in the death of a woman on a California highway.

What happened: Sarina Rodriguez, 25, was killed when a rock hit her car on Highway 138 in Antelope Valley.

  • The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to this scene east of Highway 18 after receiving reports of a traffic accident.
  • Her boyfriend, who was in the passenger seat, said they were driving westbound when the rock shattered the windshield.

Investigation: No suspect has been identified yet, and this incident marks the third similar case under investigation in the past few days.

  • On October 6, another driver reported a rock through their windshield in the same area, with serious injuries.
  • CHP and the Los Angeles County Fire Department conducted a search but found no one responsible reported Fox LA.

What they're saying: "It came out of nowhere," said Franco Martinez, Rodriguez's boyfriend. His attempt to control the car wasn’t enough to prevent the crash that killed Sarina instantly.

The CHP encourages anyone with details to come forward, stressing the need for community assistance in solving these dangerous incidents.
