Reward offered for clues in unsolved Texas trucker murder

A $6,000 reward is now on offer for clues about the tragic death of Lillian Desiree Descoteau, a truck driver found on the side of an East Texas highway.

What we know: Descoteau, 51, was discovered on October 7, 2013, near an entrance ramp to Interstate 20 off FM 450 in Hallsville. Two fellow truckers stumbled upon her body while checking their tires.

  • Authorities said she had been sexually assaulted, beaten, and strangled. Her body was identified as having short blonde hair, a single stud earring, and a light blue hoodie.
  • The Texas Rangers suspect her body had been lying there for only a few hours.

Background: Originally from Irving, Texas, Descoteau had been living a transient lifestyle across several states, including Alaska, Colorado, and Maryland.

What's next: Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-8477, marking 'Cold Cases Featured' and 'Cold Case' in any online communication.

Current status: The case remains unsolved after over a decade, reported KLTV News. As authorities continue their search for leads, the reward aims to bring pivotal information to light.
