Pickup truck stopped for overweight and safety violations in Ontario

On May 8, Ontario Provincial Police pulled over a pickup truck carrying a hefty load of pallets for several safety concerns.

Reason for the stop: Conducted by OPP’s Wellington division in Alma, the pickup was flagged for numerous violations connected to commercial vehicle regulations.

  • The vehicle was found to be overweight, lacking the necessary permit.
  • Improperly attached cargo raised further concerns.
  • Inspection stickers and proof of inspection were not displayed.
  • The driver couldn't provide a valid Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) certificate.
  • Additional charges included missing trailer identification and failing to present required documents.

Authorities' advice: OPP urges the public to report unsafe vehicles immediately.
