Pickup driver charged after semi dangles over Ohio River from bridge collision

A pickup truck driver was charged with endangerment after causing a semi to hang over the Ohio River, reported WHAS11.

The incident: On March 1st, the pickup struck a stalled electric vehicle on the Clark Memorial Bridge, veering into oncoming traffic and hitting a Sysco semi truck. The impact left the semi's cab dangling dangerously above the river.

Truck driver Sydney Thomas was trapped for 45 minutes but was rescued without injury by Louisville Fire Department.
Trevor Branham, the pickup truck driver, faces multiple charges and was also injured in the crash.

The charges: Branham is accused of wanton endangerment and driving with a suspended license. His bond was set at $20,000.

Despite the risk, the swift actions of the first responders helped avoid a potential tragedy. Branham is expected to return to court on May 15th.
