Pickup driver arrested for DUI after crashing into trooper's car

A serious crash took place in Buckeye, Arizona, on the evening of April 2. A pickup truck hauling three cars hit an Arizona State Trooper's parked cruiser, DPS reports.

Details: The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when the trooper's vehicle was parked about 20 feet off I-10 for paperwork related to a prior crash.

  • The Dodge Ram going westbound left the road, colliding with the trooper's cruiser at considerable speed.
  • The impact sent the cruiser an additional 60 feet from the road.

Injuries: The state trooper was taken to the hospital with potential head injuries but luckily, the pickup driver walked away unharmed.

Legal action: Arizona DPS arrested the pickup driver. They face DUI and other felony charges.
