Part of semi truck falls from overpass onto Jeep

A part of a semi-truck fell off an overpass onto Hillsborough Avenue in Hillsborough County, Florida, on Monday, causing significant disruption to traffic.

The incident: Around noon, the truck was traveling on the I-75 ramp to I-4 when it hit a concrete barrier. The trailer overturned and dropped onto a Jeep Grand Cherokee below, driven by a 61-year-old woman.

  • The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
  • The truck driver, a 31-year-old, was unharmed.

Road conditions: As of 3 p.m., crews were working to remove the trailer from the road, reported ABC Action News.

No other injuries were reported, but the accident caused major traffic delays in the area.
