Orlando grandmother found dead near Tennessee truck stop

The body of Allecia Wolfe, an Orlando grandmother, was found badly decomposed on July 14th behind the I-24 Truck and Auto Plaza and Truckers Inn in Manchester, Tennessee.

What happened: Wolfe was last seen alive in Orlando, Florida, about 600 miles away, on July 11th. Her family was working to file a missing person report when her daughter was told that Wolfe had been found dead by the truck stop.

  • Investigators say they are handling the case as a homicide, but the exact cause of death is still unknown because of the body's condition.
  • Police are reviewing nearby security camera footage and looking into reports from those who said they saw Wolfe get into a black car, while others claimed she got into a white semi truck.
  • Her daughter, Aleah, said Wolfe faced addiction and worked as a street worker but described her as a good person.

The Coffey County District Attorney’s office says all possibilities remain open as they wait on the medical examiner’s findings, reported WFTV.

No suspects have been named. Authorities are still gathering evidence in the case.
