A big operation targeting reckless driving led to over 11,000 drivers being pulled over during CVSA's Operation Safe Driver Week in July.
The details: This year's focus was on reducing dangerous driving behaviors among both truckers and regular drivers.
- Officers stopped 11,050 vehicles across the U.S. and Canada.
- A total of 2,712 tickets and 3,228 warnings were handed out.
- For speeding, officers issued 1,694 warnings and 1,226 tickets.
For truck drivers:
- They received 2,439 warnings and 1,583 tickets for various offenses.
- Speeding accounted for 1,221 warnings and 502 tickets.
- Seatbelt violations resulted in 328 warnings and 473 tickets.
For passenger drivers:
- Warnings numbered 789 and tickets 1,129 in total.
- 473 warnings and 724 tickets issued for speeding alone.
- 26 warnings and 81 tickets were for not wearing seatbelts.
The 2025 CVSA enforcement events are already planned, focusing again on safety and rule adherence across the board.
