New Truck Stops Along I-10 to Boost Texas Economy

Southeast Texas is expecting economic growth with the opening of new truck stops along the I-10 corridor between Beaumont and Orange.

Why it matters: The region is banking on increased traffic and spending from drivers to boost their local economies.

Four new rest stops will line I-10, offering much-needed parking, fuel, and other amenities.
At least one truck stop is set to open by the end of October 2024.

"Southeast Texas is a hub for the oil and manufacturing industries," said Robbie Hood, City Manager of Vidor. "We capture sales tax from every dollar spent inside these stops," he added.

By the numbers: The stops will not only provide crucial services for truckers but also help local businesses thrive by funneling money into the community, according to 12 News Now.
