New Tilford Inspection Bay Offers Truckers Year-Round Protection

The South Dakota Highway Patrol hosted a trucker appreciation event on September 18th to mark the opening of the new inspection bay at the Tilford Port of Entry near Rapid City.

The event: Officers served burgers, hot dogs, and sides to truckers passing through from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Truck drivers also got tours of the new facility.

  • The new inspection bay allows for all-year-round checks, keeping both inspectors and truckers out of bad weather.
  • The facility features advanced technology and indoor waiting areas, providing a more comfortable experience for drivers.

"The big difference is this bay behind us. Now we can do inspections all year-round," said Brian Stenbeck, an inspector at the facility. The new capabilities offer a significant upgrade, reported KOTA News.

Thanks to these improvements, truckers can look forward to a smoother experience at the new facility.
