Motorist dies after crash with parked semi in Indiana

A motorist lost their life after a collision with a parked semi at an Indiana rest area over the weekend.

What happened: The crash took place around 9:45 a.m. on November 2 at the I-65 rest area near Columbus, Indiana.

  • Omotope G. Oyediran, driving a Honda CRV, unexpectedly left the interstate and entered the rest area.
  • Her vehicle collided with a stationary 2020 International semi truck with a loaded trailer.
  • The truck driver was in the sleeper berth at the time of the crash and was not injured.

Investigation: Indiana State Police are looking into the cause of the crash.

  • Toxicology results are still pending.

Thankfully, the trucker was unharmed, but the investigation continues to uncover why Oyediran left the highway.
