Motorist dies after crash with parked semi in Indiana

A motorist lost their life after a collision with a parked semi at an Indiana rest area over the weekend.

What happened: The crash took place around 9:45 a.m. on November 2 at the I-65 rest area near Columbus, Indiana.

Omotope G. Oyediran, driving a Honda CRV, unexpectedly left the interstate and entered the rest area.
Her vehicle collided with a stationary 2020 International semi truck with a loaded trailer.
The truck driver was in the sleeper berth at the time of the crash and was not injured.

Investigation: Indiana State Police are looking into the cause of the crash.

Toxicology results are still pending.

Thankfully, the trucker was unharmed, but the investigation continues to uncover why Oyediran left the highway.
